Scientific Name: Neodypsis decaryi
Common Name: Triangle Palm
Full Grown: 15-20 feet
Description: The three-sided feature of the Triangle Palm tree trunk makes it easily identifiable and widely popular. Once the Triangle Palm reaches a certain height, the trunk will feature a round lower portion, while retaining the triangular shape in the upper section. The leaves are firm and upright, dropping only at the tips. The leaflets are an interesting grey-green color. In cultivation, the triangle palm is sturdy, and grows quickly. Neodypsis decaryi has proven itself to be quite adaptable when transplanted.
Climate: Tropical and subtropical regions
History: Named after R. Decary who was the first person to collect a specimen.
